One day, I’ll understand.
“Swim.” by DJ Cam. Just beautiful.
response prose poem
Divinity, chaos, motion, mind. One day, I’ll forgive myself for being a fool, for trusting too much. I’ll look at the mirror and say, “Hey. It’s been a long time.” She’ll ask me if I would have preferred the easy way, ask if I wanted to be the one who lied. I’ll tell her no. I’ll press my fingers against the coldness. I will feel the glass at the tip of my palms. The woman who lives in the mirror can tell the truth from the stuff they say, and she’ll tell me: at least you knew yourself. At least you were never anything else but you.
